Mauricio went to live in Denver in October 1998, but he couldn't start painting again until January 2000. During those years, he could only paint in brief periods of time when he was not so overwhelmed by his work as a website developer and graphic designer.

Denver marked his artwork very strongly. He changed his style and he started to improvise into a more abstract painting although he still had some shapes and lines in it. It was a transcition periof for him. He also kept some of his old "surrealism" style, which you can see in " Kundalini Spirals". In 2002 he created his first completely abstract work: Vedanta.
